Free iOS App Icon Generator
Design a complete App Store ready icon in seconds — 250+ Lucide icons, gradients, iPhone preview, ultra-HD PNG and SVG export. Built by indie iOS developers, for indie iOS developers.
The fastest way to design an iOS app icon
Every iOS app needs a great icon. Apple requires a single 1024×1024 PNG for App Store submission, and Xcode renders that source into the 12 smaller sizes iOS shows on the home screen, Spotlight, Settings, and notifications. This free generator lets you design the source in your browser using Lucide — a 1,400+ icon set with the same clean, 24-unit-grid visual language as Apple's SF Symbols.
Designed for App Store submission
- 1024×1024 PNG — exactly what App Store Connect asks for.
- 2048×2048 ultra-HD PNG — for marketing pages, OG images, App Store screenshots.
- SVG vector — scale to any size with no loss.
- iOS Icon Set — 13 PNGs in the exact dimensions iOS expects in
Contents.json.
How to use the generator
- Start from a preset in the top bar or click an icon to open the picker.
- Tune size, rotation, border width, opacity, and color in the Icon tab.
- Open the Background tab to set solid or gradient colors, corner rounding, padding, and shadow.
- Toggle the iPhone preview to see your icon on a real iOS home screen next to other apps.
- Click Download and pick PNG, SVG, or the full iOS icon set.
Why icons matter for App Store conversion
Your icon is the single most-rendered visual in your app's lifecycle: it shows up on every home screen, every search result, every paid ad, and every screenshot. App Store research has consistently shown icon design is one of the highest-leverage variables for tap-through rate. For indie developers shipping an iOS app on a budget, getting the icon right before launch is a small change that compounds for the life of the app.
Pair this with The Swift Kit
If you're building an iOS app from scratch, you'll spend weeks wiring up onboarding, paywalls, authentication, in-app purchases, AI features, and a design system before you ship a single screen of real product. The Swift Kit is a production-ready SwiftUI starter that hands you all of it on day one — drop your new icon in, and you're closer to launch than most indie developers get in a month.

Frequently asked questions
What size should an iOS app icon be?
Apple requires a 1024×1024 px PNG for App Store submission. iOS itself uses many smaller sizes (180, 167, 152, 120, 87, 80, 76, 60, 58, 40, 29, 20) which Xcode generates from your source. This generator exports all of them at once as a ready-to-drop iOS icon set.
Is this iOS app icon generator really free?
Yes — 100% free with no sign-up, no watermarks, and no upload. Everything runs in your browser, so your design never leaves your device. Built by The Swift Kit as a thank-you to the indie iOS developer community.
Can I use the icons I create in my App Store submission?
Yes. Icons you create are yours to use commercially in any iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS, macOS, or visionOS app you publish, including paid apps. We use Lucide icons which are MIT-licensed for any use.
What formats can I export?
PNG at 1024×1024 (App Store), PNG at 2048×2048 (ultra-HD for print/marketing), a scalable SVG vector, and the complete iOS Contents.json icon set — 13 PNG files at the exact sizes iOS expects.
How do I add the generated icon to my Xcode project?
Download the iOS Icon Set bundle. In Xcode, open Assets.xcassets, select AppIcon, and drag each PNG into its matching size slot. For SwiftUI projects targeting iOS 17+, you can drop just Icon-1024.png into the single-size AppIcon and Xcode handles the rest.
Why use Lucide icons for an iOS app logo?
Lucide is a community-maintained fork of Feather with 1,400+ icons designed on a consistent 24-unit grid with matching stroke weights — which is exactly the visual language Apple's SF Symbols use. That makes Lucide a great free alternative for a clean, modern iOS app icon that fits Apple's design language.
